About brand SEM

Founded in 1958, ShandongEngineeringMachinery (SEM briefly) has been manufacturing SEM wheel loaders for over 50 years. The company was transformed into Joint Stock Company in 2003. Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd. became 100% subsidiary of Caterpillar since 2008. SEM was renamed as Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd. (CQL briefly) in 2013 and continued to produce products with brand SEM. SEM became one of brands Caterpillar, designed to render necessary assistance to more customers in such sectors as building and mechanical engineering. Company Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd. is situated in Qingzhou city to the east of Shandong province, which is easily accessed by major roads.

Being subsidiary, which is in sole property of Caterpillar, CQL is going to produce products with brand SEM: wheel loaders, road rollers, land graders and bulldozers, and accessories for road-building equipment, service tools and loaders Cat 950 GC. Having obtained the support of local authorities, CaterpillarQingzhou acquired a land plot not far from its facility to increase power of production lines and other key production components. To strengthen its competitive advantage in China and on other advancing markets, Caterpillar has continuously enhanced its investment and extended industrial facilities of CQL since 2009. Caterpillar invested a lot of funds in building of world-class research and development centre in Qingdao. This center combined efforts of world class CQL researchers and scientific and research specialists for continuous development of innovative products meeting the requirements of various categories of customers on the market.
